Say No to Higher Taxes and Special Interest Deals Group
From large pieces of asphalt being smashed into the window of a "mock" school bus, paid for at some point or the other by taxpayers dollars. To the drumbeat of some Democrats calling other Democrats and Progressives strongly against Proposal 1 "Teabaggers".
Also, confusing some voters by using a Ex-Senator from Michigan - Carl Levin in a commercial supporting of Proposal 1 claiming he is the current Senator from Michigan.
However, the Real Bottom Line one of Michigan's Real Current Senators named Gary Peters, is from Oakland County. Peters, elected into office last November 2014, is opposed to Proposal 1.
Here's what U.S. Senator from Michigan Gary Peters said to the Detroit Free Press on Proposal 1 February 18, 2015:
"The Legislature should have done their jobs," and passed legislation to raise money to fix the state's crumbling roads and bridges, instead of sending a sales tax proposal to voters, Peters, D-Bloomfield Township, said after touring a plant in Lansing.
"What we have is a failure of leadership from the governor and from the Legislature," Peters said.Next, the Pro-Proposal 1 side has been reduced to flat out lying in another commercial with a school bus driver claiming the 1% Sales Tax Increase equals just $.1 period, instead of $.1 More on EACH the dollar of a purchase in addition to the $.6 Michiganers already pay.
Anyone knowing basic math knows better than what the bus driver is touting as truth.
"If that means paying a $.1 more, sign me up," the Bus Driver says in the Commercial.
Let's review the Real Bottom Line on Proposal 1.
It is truly sad some Democrats are siding with Governor that cut schools to the tune of $1.8 billion dollars, unemployment compensation, the Homestead Property Tax Credit, Taxed Seniors (Retirement) Pensions and Annuity Plans, Instilled Right to Work for Less, nullified the People Vote -- that Nullified P.A. 4 with P.A. 436 and so forth and so on.
So, here is the breakdown on 1% Sales Tax spike from a pure Main Street Economics and Political Point of View.
Michiganders can't afford a Regressive 16.7% Tax Increase which will be felt at both the Pump and on every purchase besides Food and Medication in this State. Michiganders are sick and tired of Corporate Businesses receiving tax breaks while the businesses are paying less -- every time.
Learn more Real Facts about the 16.7% Tax Increase by listening to Independent Underground News & Talk Exclusive April 4, 2015, Interview with State Representative Ray Franz (R) below:
Businesses can use the 1040 Schedule C to write off certain purchases subject to the Sales Tax Increase. Joe and Sue Michigander living on $40,000 a year and not owning a business cannot.
Businesses can also deduct mileage and in retrospect fees related to using vehicles in the aspect of their business operations. Joe and Sue Michigander working at a business for a living most likely cannot.
Middle and Lower Classes of this State subject to the BULK of a 16.7% tax increase in total. Increasing sales taxes are always regressive in nature.
These Michiganders are the same folks who have been dumped on from the moment Snyder and his Cohorts took over the State House, Senate and Governor's Office.
"A tax that takes a larger percentage from low-income people than from high-income people. A regressive tax is generally a tax that is applied uniformly. This means that it hits lower-income individuals harder," from Investopedia. If the Democrats wanted to offer something better, maybe just maybe they should have planned more effectively to win last November 2014 Election - when their Candidate of Choice, Mark Schauer only lost by 4.2% points or less than 105,000 votes.
These same Democrats also should have fought harder to gain just Nine seats needed in the Michigan House to take it over. Instead the Democrats Lost Four additional seats.
The Real Bottom Line is the Election 2014 was WINNABLE in Michigan for the Democrats.
The strategy of finding one million voters failed because Democrats in charge of the unsuccessful quest, failed to connect Core Economic Issues Middle and Lower Class voters in Michigan -- on a level to Inspire More Than Enough voters to hit the polls last year's first Tuesday in November.
Furthermore, it is NOT the FAULT of Progressives or Democrats that voted in last November General Election -- regardless of the failed Strategy for CHANGE.
Frankly, it is not the fault of the disconnected potential voter that failed to be inspired enough to hit the polls. The Fault lays at the feet of a "Riding the Fence" strategy that turned out to be a loser on all aspects -- with the exception of Democratic Candidate for Governor in 2014, Mark Schauer almost winning.
It is NOT FAIR to blame the Middle and Lower Classes of this state by throwing this half-baked Regressive Tax Increase at these residents and claiming, "This is the Best We Could Do".
No, its not the best that could have been done ---see the above paragraphs -- nor are these voters in firm opposition to Proposal 1 "Teabagger Like" for voting against the measure.
Instead We Have Had Quite Enough! Plain and simple.
Until politicians on BOTH sides of the aisles get the basic fact of Enough is Enough, some voters will continue to be disconnected -- and Democrats on the State Level will continue to lose races they easily should win.
Just say "NO" to Michigan's Proposal 1 of 2015!
