UPDATE -4:48 pm ET September 9th:

According to MSNBC Martin Bashir program, George Zimmerman was released from detainment following a suspected domestic violence incident against his wife and her family. Only Zimmerman's gun was taken into custody by Lake Mary, Florida law enforcement officials at this time.

Two weeks after Shellie Zimmerman in a national television interview to Good Morning American expressed doubt of remaining married to her husband, George Zimmerman has been detained over a domestic violence incident in Lake Mary, Florida.

As reported by ABC News, September 9, 2013 at 2:54 pm ET:

George Zimmerman is being held by police after a domestic incident involving a gun, police said today.
Police in Lake Mary, Florida, said that Zimmerman is being held at a residence of a relative on suspicion of domestic battery of his estranged wife. There is a gun present at the home and police are investigating whether it was used, they said.
Shellie Zimmerman's wife filed for divorce last Thursday, less than two months after her husband was acquitted of murdering 17 year old Stanford, Florida teen Trayvon Martin and less a week after she pleaded guilty to perjury in his case a misdemeanor perjury charge for lying during a bail hearing following her husband's arrest.

MSNBC program 'The Cycle' reported at 3:55 pm ET this afternoon George Zimmerman was detailed after a violent argument with estranged wife Shellie and her parents. During the melee Zimmerman was reported to have placed one of his hands on a gun attached on his hip holster.

George Zimmerman was found not-guilty by a Stanford, Florida six member jury invoking a "stand your ground" self-defense argument when he killed African-American Florida teen, Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman, 29, has a white father and Hispanic mother.

Shellie Zimmerman faced a felony perjury charge after she lied about the couple's assets when her husband was trying to be released on a lower bond amount. By pleading guilty in a deal with Seminole County prosecutors to a misdemeanor perjury charge, Zimmerman avoided a
felony conviction with up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

George Zimmerman has been pulled over twice in the two months following the murder trial conclusion for speeding in Texas with gun in his vehicle and Florida.

Updates will be provided to this story as details develop.
