The Michigan Democratic Business Council (MDBC) has announced its summer meeting for members and those considering membership. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Comfort Inn Livonia. The MDBC is made up of business owners and private-sector professionals interested in amplifying their voice in Michigan around policies that impact businesses to grow Michigan’s economy and strengthen the state overall.
“The MDBC was formed to amplify the voice of private sector leaders who recognize that we need a healthy society to have a healthy economy, said MDBC Chair Michael Magdich.
“The experiences of small businesses, not-for-profit corporations, and many large corporations are being ignored and discounted by state policies impacting them. Existing business organizations have not effectively represented and reflected the full diversity of the business community.”
The objectives of the MDBC include:

·       Create a conduit for new ideas from the business community to policy-makers in Lansing that reflects the diversity within Michigan’s private sector
·       Ensure Michigan businesses have the information they need on public policy and programs that impact them
·       Support Michigan businesses’ success by aiding in networking and business development
