Wednesday, September 4th Michigan Supreme Court ordered a state Constitution Referedum proposal named "Protect Our Jobs", the collective bargaining amendment on the ballot for the November 6th election.

Opponents sought to the states' highest judicial branch for barring the proposal for consideration by Michigan voters, citing that it with provisions of Constitution for Legislature’s right to enact laws governing the resolution of disputes concerning public employees.

Michigan Supreme Court disagreed, stating it saw no conflict between the proposed amendment and the existing constitution, and ruled that proponents of the measure had collected enough signatures to put it to a vote.
“The Legislature may still enact the laws provided for” in the sections of the constitution cited by opponents, the court said. “But should the amendment pass, the power to do so could be limited by collective-bargaining agreements.”
Other proposals approved by the States' Supreme Court this afternoon included the 2/3rd Tax Voter measure, requiring 75% of both Houses of the Michigan Legislature to raise taxes or enact a new tax and a ballot vote prior to building a international bridge could be built between Michigan and Canada.

The Court rejected a fourth measure, which sought an amendment to allow the construction of eight new casinos in the state.
