More Michigan Supreme Court hearings on citizen's initiative proposals are scheduled to occur within the hour.

At 2PM, the States' Highest Court will hear as oral arguments, whether to take up the cases or take other action, four ballot proposals trying to get on the November 6th ballot.

The Court will review merit on three proposals presented before the State Board of Canvassers on Monday, August 27th which were blocked, as they didn't not receive the 3 to 1 vote needed to certify for November 6th ballot. Those initiatives are proposals to build eight new casinos, building a privately/public financed bridge between Detroit and Windsor, and requiring a two-thirds vote of the state Legislature to raise state taxes.

Canvasser Norm Shinkle, left the governmental body without its' normal balance of two Democratic and Republican representatives on Monday, August 27th, deciding instead to attend the Republican National Committee Convention in Tampa, FL.

The Board of Canvassers on Monday, did certify the proposal allowing voters to decide if the right for workers to engage in collective bargaining language should be added into the State Constitution after the Court of Appeals ordered the board to do so.

Still, opponents of the collective bargaining initiative appealed again to Michigan's Supreme Court on Tuesday, August 28th, in a last effort to keep the proposal blocked from state voters to decide on November 6th.

The Court will consider whether to take up the cases to determine a decision or deny any further state judicial court review on the proposals.
