Press Release

D. Alexander Bullock Disapproves of the Michigan Board of Canvassers for Not Allowing Michigan Voters the Right to Decide the Fate of Emergency Dictators

(DETROIT) - Michigan Public Act 4 was one step closer to suspension after the Michigan Bureau of Elections reported that an estimated 203,238 petition signatures were turned in by the Stand Up for Democracy coalition to repeal Michigan Public Act 4.
“Today's decision is a apart of the continuing tragic destruction of Democracy in Michigan and the nation. With voter suppression and voter nullification attempts developing around the country Michigan's Board of Canvassers have turned their back on the right of the people of Michigan to determine their own fate. The font was size 14. This is a blatant miscarriage of justice. Whether in Michigan or Egypt, state occupation is not what Democracy looks like,” D. Alexander Bullock.
The Michigan Board of Canvassers is set to met Thursday and decide the fate of democracy in Michigan for this election cycle. Although the number of signatures was not an issue the board had to decide if a typeface issue, brought up by a right wing group called Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility, was enough to halt the measure that loudly called for the restoration of democracy.

Rainbow PUSH Detroit, in partnership with the statewide coalition known as Stand Up for Democracy hand delivered the 200,000 plus signatures on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012 in Lansing, Mich. to the Secretary of State’s office.
