President Barack Obama Friday, February 10th announced that religious emplo yers wouldn't have to cover birth control for their workers.

The Obama Administration instead will demand that insurance companies be directly responsible for meeting the federal mandate of free contraception for women of child bearing years.

President Obama's change in policy attempts to appease both sides of the debate, and possible cease what could amount to a election-year nightmare for the White House.

Women in need of contraception services would still get guaranteed access to birth control without co-pays or premiums no matter where they work. This provision of President Obama's health care law that he insisted must remain.

In contrast, religious universities and hospitals that see contraception as an  violation of their faith can refuse to cover it, then insurance companies would be required to do so.

President Obama speaking about his decision stated at 12:15 PM EST the following:
"Nearly 99% of women have rely on contraception at some form in their lives. No woman's health should depend on who she is, where she lives or how much money she makes, period."
Speaking on the backlash he received from the faith based community about possibly mandating them to cover conception coverage.
"As a citizen and a Christian I cherish this right. I know how important the work that faith based organizations do. We originally exempted all Churches from the (contraception requirement). Under the rule, woman will still have access to free preventive care, no matter where they work.
If the women's employer as a religious stands against conception, the insurance company would have to provide free access to contraception protection."
