School board member, teacher seeks to fill recalled Paul Scott seat for Democrats

The race for former state Representative Paul Scott (Fmr. R-Grand Blanc) is on, as Linden School Board member, Steve Losey was nominated on December 1st by the Genesee County Democratic party

Losey will attempt to fill the open seat for in a special election to be held in February 2012 to fill the position left by the recall of Mr. Scott.

Republicans have nominated Genesee County commissioner Joe Graves on November 21, 2011.

As a special education teacher in the Redford School District, Losey who is married, has lived in the Linden community for nearly 10 years and won his current seat on the school board as a write-in candidate.
"I'm tired of the 'working man's voice being squelched by the 'out of touch' career politicians in Lansing," Losey said. "If I'm not trying to be part of the solution, then I'm part of the problem. I refuse to be part of the problem,"Losey stated to MIRS. 
"I want to bring my middle class work ethic to Lansing to represent the hard-working men and women of the 51st District and Genesee County," Losey said. "We need to focus on taking care of our young and experienced citizens," he cited.
