Occupy Detroit members Susie Reed
and Joe McGuire were arrested at WSU
for asking NYSE CEO Duncan
Niederauer questions about his role
in the financial collapse.
Earlier today, Occupy Detroit members Susie Reed and Joe McGuire were arrested at a  taping of Wayne State University’s Leaders on Leadership TV show.

Attended by about 30 guests, the show featured New York Stock Exchange CEO Duncan Niederauer while 30 Occupy members protested outside.

During the program, McGuire stood up to ask Niederauer about any advice the CEO might have for occupiers wishing to avoid arrest the way Wall Street bankers had avoided arrest for their role in the economic meltdown. In response, event security and Wayne State Police removed McGuire from the room and arrested him.

Shortly after Joe McGuire was removed, Susie Reed was arrested when she asked about Niederauer’s accountability for presiding over Wall Street during the economic meltdown.

The pair was taken by police to the University Police Department eight blocks away. The crowd of protesters marched to the police station and chanted, “Arrest the CEO! Not Susie and Joe!”

Reed and McGuire were later released. Niederauer remains on the loose.
