Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano announced Thursday morning that former Wayne County Economic Director, now Metro Airport C.E.O. Turkia Mullin has paid back $135,900 to Wayne County

The payment is suppose to represent what Mullin received after 40% taxes on the severance was paid to the Federal Government.

Ficano held up a cashier's check to reporters, in a attempt to end rumors and put to bed questions by commissioners who wondered why it was taking Mullin so long to cut a check.

A FBI Investigation into why Ficano approved for Mullin receiving the $200,000 severance package continues to go forth. No word yet on if Mullin's secretary, who also received a $15K severance package to leave the job with Mullin to take a job at Wayne County Airport, has returned the money received to Wayne County.
