The Committee to Recall Rick Snyder
announced they will be extending their
efforts to recall Gov. Rick Snyder until
September 29th.
The Committee to Recall Rick Snyder (CRRS) estimates that their grassroots efforts since May 21, 2011, have gathered approximately 310,000 Michigan registered voters signatures, according to their "Petition Drive Time Line" diagram.

These efforts while notable, aren't near the minimum of 807,000 signatures or 25% of registered voters who participated during Michigan's 2010 Gubernatorial race, needed to place a statewide recall voter against Gov. Rick Snyder (R) on the ballot.

CRRS announced in a e-mail sent on August 1st, they have decided to extend the dates of collecting petition signatures to September 29th. The grassroots organization estimated that they received 10,000 signatures for the 40 days period between May 21st to June 30th. According to CRRS timeline, their recall signature efforts was robust during the month of July, gathering 300,000 signatures between July 1st to July 31st.
"It is totally within the mathematical realm of possibility that we will be able to collect the less than 800,000 signatures in the remaining 60 days. We will lose less than 10,000 signatures if we drop the period May 21st through June 30th'" the group stated in a e-mail communication.
"We will keep the more than 300,000 we collected during the month on July. In effect that gives us a starting month count of over 300,000 signatures," they noted.
Michigan's Secretary of State (SOS) Ruth Johnson (R) office will determine the validity of all signatures on CRRS petition forms. Under SOS rules for recall campaigns, clarity period for petitions last 180 days but, signatures on petition forms are valid only for 90 days.

With this, Michigan's registered voters who signed any CRRS petitions between May 21st and June 30th would have to sign a petition again, for their signatures to be validity counted towards placing a recall vote against Gov. Rick Snyder, on February 2012 state-wide Republican primary ballot.

On their Facebook page, CRRS noted that they will be contacting May and June's Michigan registered voters who signed the petition, informing of the change in strategy.
