Tax payers who e-file their returns
can check for IRS acceptance 24 to 48
hours after filing.

Tax time is rolling upon unemployed job seekers, underemployed and others soon. For 2011, the time to file your 2010U.S. IRS tax return has been extended slightly to Monday, April 18th, due to a Federally Recognized Holiday.

Verifying Tax Returns Acceptance by the IRS

After your tax return has been prepared and e-filed with the IRS and/or State Treasury agency, the best way to inquire whether your federal or state tax return has been accepted by the IRS is with the official Tax Return status page.

It's suggested that tax payers wait at least 24 to 48 hours after e-filing the return to ensure acceptance and that no errors have occurred in filing, which could block receiving a refund.

After confirming the tax return acceptance, filers can check the tax return transmission dates and inquire when estimated IRS tax refunds will be deposited, after 72 hours of acceptance.

Federal and/or States Debts can halt receiving of a tax return refund, even after IRS acceptance

It is important to note that The IRS does not guarantee a specific date that a tax refund will be deposited into a taxpayer’s account or mailed. The possibly exist that even if your return is accepted without errors by the IRS, if other factors exist like Federal or State debts, an accepted return can be intercepted to outset amounts owed.

Where to check dates tax refunds should be received
