Suspended MSNBC Anchor,
Keith Olbermann, thanks his
supporters via Twitter
Keith Olbermann’s suspension story continues to grow by the minute; as the “head honchos” at MSNBC send out mix a variety of mix messages regarding his “indefinite” suspension without pay. Meanwhile, Olbermann via his Twitter account on November 7th issued a statement to his growing network of supporters.

"@KeithOlbermann Keith Olbermann
Greetings From Exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug & obviously left me tweetless XO

We at the “Reach Out Job Search” blog and radio show stand behind Keith Olbermann in his efforts to either return back to work or his decision to resign from the network.

Politico’s reporter Mike Allen - who have stood for GOP ideas and causes on more than one occasion - wrote on November 7,  that he was informed by MSNBC executive management Mr. Olbermann was suspended, after he would not apologize on air about the monetary campaign donations to three Democratic candidates.

“Network sources tell Playbook that Keith Olbermann was suspended because he refused to deliver an on-camera mea culpa, which would have allowed him to continue anchoring “Countdown.” Olbermann told his bosses he didn't know he was barred from making campaign contributions, although he is resisting saying that publicly”, Allen reported

“Olbermann may not hold as many cards as he thinks. He makes $7 million a year and MSNBC's prime time is not as dependent on him as it was before the addition of Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell, who make considerably less”, he wrote.

Let's review the numbers, Mike Allen, shall we?

The MSNBC evening program, “Countdown with Keith Olbermann" is the one of the networks highest rated broadcasts for the week of November 4 and, second in ratings overall, in the 8pm EST/7pm CST time slot.

The second part of Mr. Allen’s statement seems based on more opinion, than fact. It is likely true, Mr. Olbermann makes in the area of 7 Million Dollars for hosting of the “Countdown with Keith Olbermann" program.

Olbermann is also a large prime time draw for MSNBC.  With "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" program, appearing on networks' 8pm EST/7pm CST time slot, he is able to hold a majority of his audience for the programs that follow, including “The Rachel Maddow Show” and “The Last Word with Lawrence O’ Donnell”.

So, MSNBC wanted Olbermann to "apologize". What about Joe Scarborough?

As for the executives at MSNBC requiring Olbermann to apologize on the air during his show for campaign donations; did MSNBC ask “Morning Joe” host, Joe Scarborough to apologize on his monetary contributions to former Oregon U.S. House candidate Derrick Kitts, in 2006?

What about Scarborough’s on-the-stump appearance in Dallas, Texas January 2, 2010, with former President Candidate Mike Huckabee? When Huckabee appeared on the “Morning Joe” program on March 2, 2010, was Scarborough required to disclose to his viewers, two months before, he made a fundraising appearance, for his guest?

MSNBC’s backsliding rings hallow, along with President Phil Griffin excuses for suspending Keith Olbermann, without pay. We at the “Reach Out Job Search” blog will continue to follow this story.
