Our first guest is Bruce Hurwitz Ph.D, CEO and Founder of HS Staffing in New York, NY; and is a executive recruiter and career counselor in Manhattan. Mr. Hurwitz is an nationally and internationally recognized authority on recruitment and employment issues. After six years with a recruiting firm specializing in the non-profit sector, he started his company, with the mission of promoting employment for veterans.
Mr. Hurwitz will discuss job search ideas and employability creation methods for our nation's military veterans in today's economic climate. Our second guest is David Palmer, Independent Candidate for Michigan's 54th state House District. Mr. Palmer has worked previously as a volunteer, campaign manager, and consultant on local, state and national political campaigns. Currently, Mr. Palmer sits on the Board of Directors for Growing Hope, a 501.c.3 non-profit community organization group, in Washtenaw County.
The state of Michigan, has the second highest unemployment rate in the nation at 13 percent. In addition, the Southeastern Michigan area, including the 54th District has experienced a high level of job loss with an estimated 40,000 residents either unemployed and/or underemployed.
Candidate Palmer will discuss his ideas on how to foster Job Creation for the 54th District of Southeastern Michigan, in this important election that will determine the direction of the state for the next two years.
