Tiffany Crenshaw's of the Career Moxie.com Appearance on Reach Out Job Search Radio

If you did not have the opportunity to listen to our "Reach Out Job Search" radio show tonight, please do. Besides the show stream being right here (to the left) on this blog, we will provide a link to the show, at the end of this blog posting.

Tiffany Chenshaw of Career Moxie.com was so impactful and on point, detailing the natures of Job Search, during this current unemployment crisis. Some highlights of Ms. Crenshaw's discussion, includes:

-Discussing if potential job seekers desire to go back to school or training to assist them in new career fields; investigate the long-term financial nature of going to school versus, the career field of the candidates choose.

Too many times, "Reach Out Job Search" host-Monica, has heard back from unemployed job seekers, that they have returned back to schooling, added student loan and/or other debts and still cannot find work.

-Treating your job search like a 9:00 am to 5:00 pm job and with such, hitting the pavement. Ms. Chenshaw noted that only 8% of job seekers, find their next employment opportunity by applying for openings on the internet only.

The internet age, allows many job seekers to hide behind a computer and hope that their resume will be picked out of the thousands that are applying for the same job opportunity. Unemployed job seekers, cannot allow themselves to be tricked into waiting for the "call". This group must continue to not only apply on the internet but, go face to face with the business and possibly the hiring manager to move their resumes, from the pile.

-Employers are SLOWLY beginning to hire. Still, these opportunities might be temporary and/or contractor based before, the company will bring the candidate on, full board.

Unemployed job seekers, please do not discount jobs that might not have full benefits and an awesome salary, going into the door. Sadly, the job search of today is not like prior to 2007 or earlier in this decade. Sometimes, this group might have to look "outside the box" to break into an new employment opportunity. Temporary and Contract employment is one of the BEST ways to do this, in this market.

It was an honor to have Ms. Chenshaw appear on our "Reach Out Job Search" radio program. Be sure to listen to the entire Podcast either on I-Tunes or by the link here.

If you have any comments and/or suggestions that you would like to add, feel free to add them below this post. Thanks!

Monica
